Fitting Studio
Fitting Studio is a social-styling app that turns everyday outfit dilemmas into a quick community vote. Upload your looks, get instant feedback, and decide what to wear with confidence.
Getting honest, fast opinions on what to wear is harder than it sounds. People want feedback in the moment, not hours later, and many hesitate to share photos unless they can stay anonymous. The real challenge was keeping the community active enough that every post returns quick, useful votes.
We designed and built a friction-free flow: upload one or several looks, compare them side by side, and let an anonymous community vote in real time. A points and rewards system keeps voters coming back, while live tallying surfaces a clear answer the moment opinions roll in.
A closer look
Fitting Studio lives or dies on one number: how long a user waits between posting a look and getting an answer they can act on. Someone standing in front of a mirror deciding what to wear tonight does not care about a verdict tomorrow. So the whole product is engineered backwards from that moment. Uploading is one tap, comparing multiple looks is built into the post itself rather than bolted on, and votes appear the instant they are cast. The app is not a fashion feed you browse; it is a question you ask and an answer you get while it still matters.
Anonymity turned out to be the feature that makes the votes worth having. People hesitate to post photos of themselves under their own name, and voters soften their opinions when a friend will see who clicked what. By making voting anonymous in both directions, the app protects the person asking and frees the person answering, and the result is feedback that is fast and honest at the same time. That is a deliberate trade: Fitting Studio gives up the social-graph mechanics of a typical network in exchange for candor, which is the actual product.
The hard problem underneath is a marketplace one: every post needs voters, and voters have no intrinsic reason to keep voting. The points and rewards system is the economic answer. Casting votes earns points, points feed back into the experience, and the personalized feed keeps a fresh stream of looks in front of people who have shown they will vote. Push notifications close the loop on the other side, pulling a poster back the moment opinions arrive. Gamification here is not decoration; it is the supply side of the market.
Technically, the app is built in Flutter, one codebase for a product where the interface is the pitch: smooth photo handling, side-by-side comparison, and vote counts that move on screen as ballots land. Firebase carries the real-time layer, which is what makes live tallying and instant notifications feel immediate rather than polled, while Node.js services on AWS handle the backend logic and give the points economy and feed room to grow with the community.
Fitting Studio shipped to the App Store, where it holds a 5.0 rating and a 17+ age rating. For a product whose entire promise is speed and honesty, that reception is the metric we watch: it means the loop works, people ask, the community answers, and the answer arrives in time to matter. It is also a template we keep reusing: any product whose value depends on strangers responding to each other quickly ends up needing this same trio of real-time infrastructure, privacy by design, and an incentive economy that keeps the responding side supplied.

Common questions
What is Fitting Studio?
Fitting Studio is a social outfit-voting app. You upload one or several looks, an anonymous community votes in real time, and the live tally tells you what to wear while the decision still matters. Points and rewards keep the community voting.
How does anonymous voting work in Fitting Studio?
Anonymity runs in both directions: posters are not exposed under their own name and voters are not identified to the poster. That protects the person asking and lets the person answering be honest, which is what makes the votes useful rather than polite.
How are the votes counted in real time?
The app's real-time layer is built on Firebase, so a vote updates the tally on the poster's screen the moment it is cast, with no refresh and no polling delay. Push notifications bring the poster back as soon as opinions start arriving.
What keeps the community active enough to vote?
A points and rewards system. Voting earns points, a personalized feed keeps fresh looks in front of active voters, and notifications reward posters with instant feedback. Treating voter participation as the supply side of a marketplace was the core product decision.
What did Appluex build, and where is the app available?
Appluex designed and built the full product: a Flutter app backed by Firebase for the real-time voting layer and Node.js services on AWS. Fitting Studio is published on the App Store, where it holds a 5.0 rating with a 17+ age rating.
