Booking and sessions run securely, on a privacy-minded architecture that treats sensitive data as a first-class design priority.
A closer look
Zant's founding constraint is affordability, and that is a product decision before it is a pricing decision. When the promise is a first session at $0 on the basic plan, $25 sessions for students, and under $100 for everyone else, the software has to carry those tiers natively: who qualifies for which rate, what each plan includes, and how a booking resolves to the right price without the person ever having to negotiate or guess. We built the plans and pricing into the booking flow itself, so the cost of care is visible before commitment, which is exactly the moment where cost anxiety otherwise turns people away.
Discovery is the second place the mission shows up in the architecture. Mental health care is not one service; it spans trauma, addiction recovery, eating disorders, and many more specialties, and a person in distress should not need clinical vocabulary to find help. Zant organizes providers by category of care, so the search starts from what someone is going through rather than from a directory of credentials. That taxonomy runs through the whole system: providers are indexed by it, browsing is structured by it, and matching a person to the right kind of support is a navigation problem the app solves instead of leaving it to the user.
Everything in this product touches sensitive data, so privacy could not be a feature bolted on at the end. What someone seeks help for is among the most sensitive facts about them, and the architecture treats it that way: booking and sessions run securely, and sensitive personal data is handled as a first-class design priority at every layer, from what gets stored to what any given screen reveals. The measure of success is trust; a person should feel that reaching out through Zant exposes them to a provider and to no one else.
The booking experience itself was designed around a fragile moment. Someone who has decided, perhaps for the first time, to look for help is easy to lose to friction: an unclear price, a confusing signup, a dead end in search. So the path from opening the app to a booked first session is deliberately short, with the free first session as its centerpiece. Lowering the emotional cost of starting is as much a part of the product as lowering the financial one.
Zant is built with Flutter for iOS and Android over a Node.js backend, with MongoDB, Firebase, and AWS behind the platform.
