Warehousing & Inventory

Stowly

Stowly is a warehouse inventory app concept that turns a phone into a barcode scanner. Receiving stock, tracking real-time levels, and guiding pick-and-pack from one screen.

WarehousingLogisticsProductivity
The challenge

Many warehouses still run on manual counts, clipboards, and spreadsheets, which makes data-entry errors easy and real-time stock visibility nearly impossible. Receiving and picking slow to a crawl when teams can't trust the numbers, and stockouts surface only after they've already cost a sale.

Our solution

We designed and prototyped Stowly around barcode scanning so receiving and picking happen in seconds, with inventory counts updating in real time as items move. Low-stock alerts flag what needs reordering before it runs out, guided pick-and-pack workflows reduce mistakes, and an offline-friendly design keeps the floor moving even where connectivity is spotty.

Inside the concept

A closer look

Stowly is a concept we prototyped to replace the clipboard on a warehouse floor. The design turns a phone into a barcode scanner so receiving and picking take seconds, and every scan updates a single source of truth for stock levels in real time, which is the number most warehouses cannot trust when they run on spreadsheets.

Warehouses have dead zones, so the concept is offline-friendly by design: scans queue locally and reconcile when connectivity returns, so a spotty corner of the building never stops the line. Guided pick-and-pack walks a worker through each order to cut the mistakes that turn into returns, and low-stock alerts flag reorders before a shelf runs empty.

Stowly is a concept, not a shipped system, but it reflects how we approach operations tooling: fast input, data people can trust, and workflows that hold up when the network does not.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Stowly a real product?

No. Stowly is a design concept in the Appluex portfolio, built to show how we approach warehouse and operations tooling.

How does the Stowly concept speed up receiving and picking?

It uses the phone camera as a barcode scanner, so items are logged in seconds and stock counts update in real time as they move.

What happens where there is no signal?

The concept is offline-friendly. Scans queue on the device and reconcile automatically when connectivity returns, so a dead zone never stops the floor.

Can Appluex build inventory or logistics software?

Yes. Operations and logistics tools are part of our work. A production build adds integrations, roles, and reporting. Contact us to scope it.
