How Florida's largest insurance agency networks build their websites
Every insurance agency network with five or more offices in Florida, identified from the state's licensing register, measured on one day and scored on eight dimensions of what a prospective client, a search engine and an AI assistant can see.

Headline findings
Each of these comes straight out of the measurement. None of them is an estimate.
The median Florida agency network scores about half the points available
Across 77 measured networks the range runs from 10.5 to 82.3, and half the field sits between 35.8 and 56. These are companies with offices in dozens of Florida towns, so the spread is not explained by size.
Most of these networks publish nothing a machine can read about where they are
56 of 77 publish no local-business data of any kind, and 23 publish no structured data at all. A network with offices in twenty towns is invisible to an assistant asked for an agent in any one of them.
Almost none answer a customer question in a form an AI assistant can quote
74 of 77 publish no FAQ data. Insurance buying is a question-and-answer purchase, and this is the format an assistant reads before deciding whom to name.
In Florida, most of these sites offer no Spanish experience at all
60 of 77 show no Spanish experience. Several of the largest networks on this list were built for Spanish-speaking buyers, which makes the gap a choice rather than an oversight.
Most publish nothing at all between one year and the next
36 of 77 have no article pages a search engine can find. The median site in this field runs about 71 pages, which is room enough to have said something.
Some still do not put a phone number or a quote on the homepage
23 of 77 put no tappable phone number on the homepage and 21 invite no quote. For a local agency those two are the transaction.

The field
The distribution is what the study is actually about: the shape of a whole published field, not a ranking of individual firms. Every measured site sits in one of these bands.
Sites per score band
| Band | Sites | Share | Footprint | Technical SEO | AI search readiness | Content | Conversion | Speed | Security headers | Language reach |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 60 to 100 | 12 | 16% | 79 | 100 | 20 | 80 | 73 | 79 | 49 | 0 |
| 45 to 59.9 | 34 | 44% | 47 | 85 | 10 | 40 | 73 | 77 | 34 | 0 |
| 30 to 44.9 | 19 | 25% | 31 | 69 | 0 | 24 | 48 | 78 | 17 | 0 |
| 0 to 29.9 | 12 | 16% | 0 | 27 | 0 | 18 | 25 | 84 | 17 | 0 |
A band reports how many sites scored in a range and what the middle of that range looks like on each dimension. Every firm inside it is also listed by name, with its own scores, in the table below.
Every firm on the ranking
The whole field, by name, in score order, with the total and the eight dimension scores behind it. Where a firm could not be measured it is named under the table instead, with the reason and no score.
A marked firm has had its identity confirmed against the state's own licensing record, which names a licensed entity trading under that brand at that domain. Every other firm is listed on the weaker tie of the contact domain the regulator holds for it; only marked firms are named as leaders or issued a badge.
Scroll the table sideways to see every dimension. The standing and the agency stay in place.
Matching rows are highlighted where they sit. Nothing is hidden, so you can still read a firm against the rest of the field.

The eight dimensions, one at a time
Each dimension is scored on the same scale. Here is why each one matters twice over, once to the business owner or household reading the site and once to the assistant answering for it, and how the field is spread across it.
Footprint
How much of a company's site the search engines can actually reach, and how far its presence extends across the places and the coverages it serves.
Why it matters to a prospective clientIf a page does not exist, nobody can land on it. An agency that publishes a page per line of business and per town it writes in gives a buyer searching for that exact cover somewhere to arrive. A single homepage gives them nothing to find.
Why it matters to an AI assistantAn assistant answering a narrow question needs a narrow page to cite. Breadth of indexed URLs is the difference between being quoted for one query and being quoted for hundreds.

Why it matters to a prospective clientThese are the parts a client never sees and always feels: the title in the search result, the preview when someone pastes the link to a colleague, whether the right page ranks instead of a duplicate of it.
Why it matters to an AI assistantThe mechanics are how a machine decides what a page is about without guessing from prose. When they are missing a page is not lowered, it is made ambiguous, and ambiguity is what gets a firm described wrongly.

AI search readiness
How ready the site is to be understood, trusted and cited by AI assistants when someone asks them for an insurance broker.
Why it matters to a prospective clientA growing share of buyers ask an assistant which agency to call before they ask anyone else. What the assistant says is assembled from whatever the site made machine readable.
Why it matters to an AI assistantMachine readable answers are data, not prose. An assistant can lift a structured answer with confidence, and has to paraphrase everything else at its own risk.

Content
How much substance the company publishes about the work it does, and how fluently the site speaks the language of the trade.
Why it matters to a prospective clientA buyer searches in the vocabulary of the risk: general liability, workers comp, umbrella, flood, commercial auto. A site that never uses the words cannot be the answer to them.
Why it matters to an AI assistantCoverage of the trade vocabulary is how a model decides whether a firm writes the thing being asked about. Thin homepages force it to infer, and inference is where assistants recommend the wrong agency.

Conversion
Whether a visitor who is ready to buy can act right away, without leaving the page to find out how.
Why it matters to a prospective clientThe visitor who is ready to move their policy needs a quote path, a phone number and a form that works on a phone. Insurance is bought on the strength of a first conversation, and the site is what decides whether it happens.
Why it matters to an AI assistantAn assistant that can find a clear contact route will hand the user one. A site where the next step is unclear gets described rather than recommended.

Speed
How quickly and how lightly the homepage arrives for the person waiting on it.
Why it matters to a prospective clientBuyers compare agencies on a phone, often in the minutes after something has gone wrong. Every megabyte is time the visitor spends deciding whether to go back to the search results and call the next name.
Why it matters to an AI assistantCrawl budget is real. Heavy pages are fetched less often and less completely, so slow sites end up represented by stale copies of themselves.

Security headers
Whether the site sends a visitor's browser the protections a maintained site is expected to send.
Why it matters to a prospective clientThese headers are what a browser uses to constrain a page. On a site that asks for dates of birth, addresses and policy details, their absence is the clearest public signal of how much attention the site itself receives.
Why it matters to an AI assistantNot a ranking factor in itself. It is included because it is cheap, measurable, and correlates with whether anyone is maintaining the site at all.

Language reach
Whether the company serves Spanish speaking customers in their own language, rather than in translation after the fact.
Why it matters to a prospective clientA large share of Florida households and small business owners handle their insurance in Spanish. An English only site is invisible to a Spanish search, in a purchase that turns on understanding exactly what is covered.
Why it matters to an AI assistantAn assistant answering in Spanish prefers sources in Spanish. A site with no Spanish surface is simply not in the running for that part of the market.

About this study
Where the field came from, how much of it was measured, and what these scores are and are not.
The field
Florida Department of Financial Services, licensed agency register
No published ranking of Florida insurance agencies exists, so this study does not borrow one. Membership comes from the state: every business holding a Florida agency licence is on the Department of Financial Services register, and that register, not us, decides who is a licensed agency here. Two decisions after that are ours and we name them rather than bury them. The first is the threshold: a network is a brand with five or more offices in Florida, an office being a distinct licensed street address. The second is the classification: a brand that is one carrier's own agent force, a bank, or a national brokerage is not an independent Florida agency, and each one kept out is listed with the reason. Where a brand could not be identified at all, it is held out rather than guessed into or out of the field, and those are counted too. The register and the measured field are different numbers and the page prints both: a site that could not be measured is held out of every aggregate rather than scored as empty, which would flatter it. If a firm you expected is absent, that is not a statement about its size or its quality. It is absent because it has fewer than five Florida offices, because it is one carrier's agent force rather than an independent agency, because we could not confirm which brand a domain belongs to, or because the state's record gives no website for it at all, which is true of roughly half the agencies in Florida.

The scoring
Every measured site is scored out of one hundred on each of eight dimensions of public web presence: footprint, technical SEO, AI search readiness, content, conversion, speed, security headers and language reach. Those eight combine into one total on the same scale. Each score is a measurement of a live public website taken on the scan date, made the same way for every firm on the list, so the comparison between two rows is like for like.
The model
Scores are produced by Appluex's own scoring model, built from the audits we run for clients. The model is proprietary and is not published. What is published is the result: every dimension score, every aggregate and the whole distribution, published in full on this page and free to quote and cite.
Held out
Nothing is quietly dropped and nothing is scored as a zero. These are the counts behind both kinds of holding out: sites that could not be measured, which are also named under the full field table with their reason, and firms kept out of the named leaders because no outside record confirmed their identity.

What this measurement does not do
- Roughly half of Florida's licensed agencies file a free or personal mailbox with the state, so no website can be derived for them. They are absent from this study, and nothing here says they have no website.
- Scores compare these networks with each other. They are not comparable with scores from our studies of other industries.
What this study does not claim
It scores public websites, not companies. It says nothing about what any of these firms covers, how it handles a claim, what it charges, or how good its advice is. An agency can look after its clients superbly from behind a thin website, and a polished website is not evidence of anything except a polished website.
- Nothing about coverage, carrier appointments, claims handling, pricing, commissions or the quality of advice.
- No financial or operational data of any kind. The only record used is the state's public register of valid insurance licences, which is what defines the field.
- No judgement about individual firms. The ranking is of public web presence as measured on the scan date.
- A snapshot, not a trend. A site redesigned after the scan date is not reflected until the next edition.
Independence
No firm is left out of this page for being a client of ours, and none is marked as one. A client in this field is measured, scored and ranked by the same code as every other firm, and if it places badly it is published placing badly. Nobody paid to be included, to be ranked or to be left out.

Select your badge
If your website placed in the top 20 of this study, the badge is yours to use. Pick your company below. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to pay, and nothing you owe us in return.
Each badge carries the company name and the position the study gave it, so it belongs to that company alone and no other firm can display it.
The snippet
Two lines of HTML for the badge shown above. Prefer to host the image yourself? Download it and point the snippet at your own copy.
The link points at the study so anyone who sees the badge can check what it means. There are no tracking parameters in it, and there is no version of it that reports back to us.
What you may do with it
- Use it on your website, in a deck, in a proposal, in a press release or on social media.
- Host the file yourself instead of linking to ours, if your policy prefers that.
- Display it without any link back. The link is a courtesy to your reader, not a condition.
- Keep using it while this edition of the ranking stands. The study is dated 2026 and will be re-run; when a new edition publishes, please move to that year's badge.
Scores are measured on the scan date, so a redesign published after that date is not reflected until the next edition, and a site that does not serve its content to the study cannot be measured at all. Write to [email protected] with your domain and what you believe is wrong. We will measure again, and if the number changes we correct the table and say so on the page, with the date on it.
Who ran this
Appluex is a software studio in Miami, Florida. We build web and mobile products, and we audit software that already exists. This study is that audit applied to a whole published field at once, which is why it reports every firm on the ranking instead of a shortlist.
